Deathwing is the Dollotron clone of Nightwing created by Professor Pyg. He is bent on proving his superiority over his genetic progenitor.[1][2]

History[edit | edit source]

Back to Blüdhaven[edit | edit source]

As Nightwing scours the city, Deathwing takes notice of his decision to stay in Blüdhaven and remarks how there's only room for one of them.[1]

Nightwing Must Die[edit | edit source]

Deathwing later kidnaps Shawn, taunting Nightwing by vandalizing her artwork by spray painting "Daddy" on it as well as give hint towards his next location by quoting and leaving coordinates in a copy of the Merry Adventures of Robin Hood.[3] When Nightwing and Robin arrive at I'Abbaye in France, Deathwing then ambushes them both. As he fights both Nightwing and Robin, he began going on a rave concerning "his" feelings about the torment "he" recieved from Batman, the pleasure "he" felt from being Batman, and "his" ill "feelings" towards Robin when in actuality, he voiced some of Nightwing's deep and inner thoughts during that period. Deathwing is interrupted by the intervention of the Dolltron Robin before he could finish Nightwing off. With him coming back to his senses, both Robin and Nightwing defeat Deathwing.[2]

Powers and Abilities[edit | edit source]

Abilities[edit | edit source]

Deathwing knocks away Robin (Nightwing #17 (Volume 4))

According to Nightwing's own thoughts, he possess both his speed and moves. However, unlike Nightwing, he doesn't have any the restraint. This is due to somehow possessing the same memories as Nightwing himself.[2]

During his altercation with both Nightwing and Robin, he was shown able to quickly capture Robin with his speed and swat him aside. Being a master martial artist, he also managed to not only hold his own with Nightwing, but gained the upper-hand once he poisoned him. He also showcase enough skill to overpower the Robin Dolltron modelled after Damian.[2]
